From Longing to Belonging: My Journey with St. Gianna

I found the Sisterhood of the Traveling Relics during one of the most challenging seasons of my life. I was struggling to get pregnant and couldn’t understand why. Friends around me seemed to conceive so easily, and I felt incredibly alone, without anyone I felt I could truly confide in.

While searching for answers and doing my own research, I came across the Sisterhood of the Traveling Relics online and began learning about St. Gianna through their ministry. As I read about her life and legacy, I felt an undeniable calling—like she was meant for me in some way. That was the beginning of my devotion to her.

Through the Sisterhood, I joined live prayer videos on Instagram, prayed Saint Gianna’s novena, and discovered a community of women walking the same path I was. For the first time, I didn’t feel alone. I prayed every day and made a promise to Saint Gianna that if I were blessed with a daughter, I would name her after her.

About six months later, I found out I was pregnant with a beautiful baby girl. I prayed with the ministry throughout my entire pregnancy, feeling constantly supported and uplifted.

What makes this ministry so special—and so different from the rest—is the relationships formed within it. Jen, the creator of the Sisterhood, truly sees every woman. She asks us to pray for one another, goes live every day to pray, and fosters a community rooted in love, faith, and genuine care. When I was preparing for my C-section, she even offered a special prayer just for me.

Every mother is seen, loved, and cared for through this ministry. I am endlessly grateful that I found the Sisterhood of the Traveling Relics and that Saint Gianna led me here.
