Love is on the move.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Relics has been receiving more and more requests to have a table at events and to share about the work we do. I decided to design a banner to keep at our table and I had to come up with a short phrase that summed up what we do to grab people's interest. I landed on the phrase, "Love is on the move."
Our team is constantly sending holy cards all over the world, our care packages are being sent out weekly to help husbands and wives grieve the loss of a beloved child, we are praying for all the intentions that come to us each and every day and all the while spreading devotion to our beloved Patron, Saint Gianna.
Love is Christ. Christ is Love. The two are synonymous and cannot be separated. He is the source of every loving act we do. "We love because He first loved us." 1 John 4:19
I am always in awe of how the Holy Spirit moves this ministry and the people who make up our team, board and the followers we have. When deciding to send the care packages, I really began to appreciate the movement of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of women. Mothers who lost their babies continue to donate items to aid other women in their time of need. It is so touching to witness the outpouring of love in action.
Recently, I received a donation of 31 prayer squares from a woman who made them in memory of her daughter who passed away at 31. I sit in thanks for Julie's donation, her daughter's life, and the fact that a woman in her own grief and pain puts her hands to work so that a mom who lost her baby can hold that prayer square and be comforted. About a month after her donation, I received an email from a woman who lost her baby and had received one of our packages... "All the items were beautiful, but the crochet prayer square in particular just moved me to tears. I will hold it and remember my precious baby." The squares Julie made, holding a woman in her own pain.
When we are stuck in our worries, anxieties and grief, a good way to carry on is to let love move you into action. When we step outside ourselves in service to others who are carrying a Cross, we no longer think of our own pain but focus on alleviating the sufferings of another. We can't take away others' Crosses as God has asked them to carry a particular Cross for their own sanctification, but we can be the Simons and Veronicas to help lighten the load for a time.
Thank you to all those who have donated to our ministry with their prayers, time, talent or treasure and allowed love to move you to come to the aid of those in need.
Love is on the move and Christ is the source of it all.
